Summer Camp for Cub Scouts is ...

Posted on Apr 25 2017 - 11:53am

... the most fun thing you and your son can do during Cub Scout Years.  See this Cub Scout Summer Camp information.  Several 3 night options, and a five night option for current 3rd and 4th Grade Scouts.  You can go as a group (pack, den, whatever), or go as a child/parent pair.   But go!  and see this new 30 second BSA "Camping with Cub Scouts" video

More Training Now On Line for Troops and Crews

Posted on Apr 24 2017 - 12:47pm

For Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews, much of what it takes to be considered a trained leader is now on line through the National On Line Training site at ScoutingU (same login as at My.Scouting.Org -- note that they have created many "short" modules for training, so that you can prioritize on the ones you want most ... and they suggest which ones you take "Before the First Meeting" and in your "First 30 Days", and for help, see these YouTube Videos about how to use the site: "Add Training to My Learning", "Course Catalog and Search" and "My Learning Plan").  Of course, you can't share stories when taking those classes unless you're talking to yourself, so be sure to find time and places to chat at camp, along the trail, at meetings or roundtables, and consider virtual roundtables like http://scouter.com/ or http://scouts-l.org/, where you can gather gems though sometimes you'll get noise (like in other locales).

Council Coordinated Meeting, Wednesday April 26

Posted on Apr 17 2017 - 5:43pm

Helping out on a District Level?  Want to Help?  Then please join us for our next Council Coordinated Meeting on Wednesday, April 26th, at 6:00pm at the Volunteer Service Center.  This is a really good collaborative kickoff event for those who are engaged in District functions, because you can share ideas with like volunteers in other Districts.  See this summary of “Ways to Help in the District” and to volunteer, contact our District Chair, Korey Washington, or our District Director Brandon Dobbins, our District Executive Zach Fisher, or our District Commissioner Bernard Bagley, or all of them at this email

Registration will begin at 6:00pm with refreshments and light food.  We will begin our general session at 6:30pm, followed by breakouts for the District Key 3 and the council operating committees at approximately 7:15pm.  If you cannot make the general session at 6:30pm, we would still like you see you at 7:15pm in the breakout sessions.

Please register at the link below and promote this event to your district leadership.
