Camp Good Turn Days

Posted on Jan 6 2009 - 9:19am

District "Good Turn" Chair Bonnie Winfrey wants to be sure all know that the Atlanta Area Council is sponsoring Camp Good Turn Days on February 28 (at Bert Adams), March 14 (at Allatoona), and April 4 (at Woodruff). The deal is that the Atlanta Area Council needs volunteers to help with several maintenance and improvement projects along with general cleanup at each of our camps. These special workdays are an excellent opportunity to do a good turn for the camp and to enjoy fellowship with other Scouters. Advance registration is required. Use this link to get a form to sign up, and then complete the form and mail or fax to: Good Turn @ AAC Camps, Atlanta Area Council, 1800 Circle 75 Parkway, SE, Atlanta, GA 30339, Attn: Bion Jones, Fax: 770-956-5980 (or, one might guess, email to BJones@AtlantaBSA.org).

. . . oh, and You Can Sign Up to attend the Derby Too! Right Now!

Posted on Dec 16 2008 - 7:47pm

There is a "Register" button in the Pinewood Derby Calendar Entry, a new tool just added in the last week. So, if you want to sign up to attend as a volunteer or leader, please just click your own name as a "Scout". In doing this, remember that, as noted before, this website is an "off the shelf" product built for Boy Scout Troops, so we enters all Unit Leaders as both "Scouts" and "Parents".

Pinewood Derby is February 7, 2009

Posted on Nov 25 2008 - 5:44pm

While we'll need to round up volunteers and plans are not set in stone (and, speaking of stone, the Paget Gym is gone, so we're going to be in a new, temporary home: the Woodward Academy Middle School Gym. But, speaking of plans, for those interested, or who want to suggest new and better ways to do things in 2009, we do have the annotated, after-action Pinewood Derby Plan from 2008, which is probably going to be the starting point of the new plan in the new temporary home. If you would like to help, or want to post an idea, you can just post a comment here on the website!
