A note for Cub Scout Unit Leaders (and Parents who might be your "go to" leaders for Weekend Camping): the B.S.A. requires that if a Cub Scout Pack goes camping, at least one attending leader must have completed "Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation" or "BALOO" (and, yes, there is other training that must be taken, like Youth Protection and Weather Hazards, but those can be done "on line" -- more information, and links to get it done, is in our Leader Training Page). Now, the Council has a course this Saturday, March 6, but if you can't go then, don't worry: there are BALOO courses every weekend this March. See the Council Training Calendar for the courses and dates and contact information for how to sign up. One special plug from the District Cub Leader Trainer: the Soapstone Ridge BALOO Weekend March 12-14 (yes, they make it a weekend, on the (good) theory that you gotta get out there and do it to go lead others) is highly recommended (Vinny Ferguson, Lester Harris, Audry Bagby and the rest of their team are first rate).

Summer Camp is the coolest thing some of our Packs have ever done, as the various Webelos Camp Photo Galleries will demonstrate. For 2010, dates for Cub Scout Summer Camp at Bert Adams Scout Reservation have been announced (note that EVERYONE can go to Summer Camp: Tigers become "Wolves" at the end of the School Year, and can go to a "Wolf/Bear" Encampment, Bears become "Webelos" at the same time, and get to go to Webelos Camp, and Webelos II Scouts should join a Boy Scout Troop and go to Summer Camp with their new Troop):
